Darren Kennedy LFW

London Fashion Week is always a bit cray cray and this year I took it super easy. Purely because I’d so much on with work but it’s always nice to pop along to a couple of the shows and events to catch up with some friendly faces.

Kicking off proceedings Alexa Chung hosted a party to give us a glimpse of what she has in store with her Archive By Alexa collection at M&S. Alexa got to rifle through the M&S back catalogue of styles,  selecting her favourites and bringing them back to life with modern reinterpretation. It’s always good to catch up with David Gandy who was getting ready to celebrate his birthday the next day.

Julien MacDonald hosted one of the grandest LFW events in what I think is a former church at One Mayfair. A stunning army of models, including men and a few children, presented a dazzling range of  sequined, feathered and cut-out pieces. I was meeting a friend for lunch afterwards so I kept it casual in jeans, a chunky roll neck knit jumper and a shearling collar leather bomber jacket from Hackett.

Afterwards I hot footed it across town to the old Billingsgate Market for Natalia Vodianova and Karlie Kloss’ second annual Fund Fair raising money for the Naked Heart Foundation. The old Market was transformed with carnival lights, bumper cars and all the fun things you’d associate with a fun fair…except the prizes where more bottles of Bollinger and Louis Vuitton!
